A Prayer for Zion
O Lord, rise up! Let Your voice be heard,
Amid the storm, in the silence of the night.
The nations gather, their hearts in revolt,
Their plans are evil, their hands full of might.
They speak with arrogance, a wicked scheme,
To cast Your people from the earth’s embrace.
Their hearts are hardened, their eyes blind to truth,
Yet You are our refuge, our hiding place.
For behold, they march with fury and wrath,
Their tongues are sharp, their words like swords of fire.
O God of Israel, rise and defend us,
Show Your power, fulfill Your desire.
Let them be scattered, like dust on the wind,
Let them know that You alone are the King.
The earth will tremble at the sound of Your name,
And to You, all the nations will sing.
O Lord, remember Your covenant of old,
And restore Your people, renew Your grace.
For we are Your inheritance, Your chosen ones,
O Lord, shine upon us and show Your face.
Peace to Jerusalem and Zion, our eternal home!
